youth, children struggling with mental health, and families from historically marginalized communities.<\/p><p>As federal leaders move to roll back safeguards and narrow access to information, care, and opportunity, families in the Northwest are asking a simple question: <em>How do we protect our values and our kids at the same time?<\/em><\/p><p>This organization exists to answer that question.<\/p><p>We are a Northwest-based family organization focused on equity, opportunity, and wellbeing for all children.<\/p><p>We believe Every child deserves safety without isolation, Right now, those values are being tested at the federal level and we must recommit to protecting vulnerable communities.<\/p><p>We&#8217;re tracking legislation that directly affects LGBTQ+ youth, youth mental health, and equity of opportunity. Here&#8217;s what&#8217;s on the table.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0f1914e elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"0f1914e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-84ffa0c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"84ffa0c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Safe Schools Improvement Act<\/strong><\/p><p>Every child deserves to go to school and feel safe getting there. For too many LGBTQ+ young people, that isn&#8217;t the reality \u2014 more than half report being bullied at school because of who they are.<\/p><p>The Safe Schools Improvement Act would require school districts receiving federal funds to adopt explicit anti-bullying policies that specifically protect students on the basis of race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, and religion. Right now, federal law requires none of that.<\/p><p>Schools with clear, named protections have safer students. This bill \u2014 with bipartisan support from teachers, principals, and parent organizations \u2014 would make those protections the standard, not the exception.<\/p><p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/7c02879a.streak-link.com\/C079Y_f__2WnxDiNggIM1aKa\/https%3A%2F%2Fwww.congress.gov%2Fmembers%2Ffind-your-member\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/7c02879a.streak-link.com\/C079Y_f__2WnxDiNggIM1aKa\/https%253A%252F%252Fwww.congress.gov%252Fmembers%252Ffind-your-member&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1774976608451000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0xBs9kVXhSKfiZfE6_LSa1\">\u2192 Urge your Members of Congress to support the Safe Schools Improvement Act<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-12700c4 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"12700c4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1d0edaa elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1d0edaa\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>988 LGBTQ+ Youth Access Act<\/strong><\/p><p>When a young person is in crisis, they need to reach someone who understands.<\/p><p>The 988 Lifeline&#8217;s dedicated pathway for LGBTQ+ youth \u2014 staffed by counselors with specialized training \u2014 handled over 1.5 million contacts since its launch. In July 2025, the administration eliminated it. Nearly 40 percent of LGBTQ+ young people seriously considered suicide in the past year. That service existed because the need is real.<\/p><p>The 988 LGBTQ+ Youth Access Act would restore that support and protect it permanently \u2014 requiring HHS to maintain specialized LGBTQ+ youth services and reserving at least 9 percent of 988 funds annually for those services.
